May 4 Everyday Commitments
Rev. Sandra Fees and Karen Nierle, Worship Associate
When it comes to commitment, we tend to focus on lifetime promises. This morning we will consider these as well as the promises we make in our daily lives. Join us as we reflect on a few simple and everyday commitments that can improve our spiritual lives. This morning we also officially welcome new members into our community.
Special Plate Collection
Our May 4th Special Collection will benefit the Literacy Council of Reading-Berks. The
Literacy Council helps adults to develop or refine skills in reading, writing, math,
English as a second language, computer-assisted learning, and workforce education. It is
one of the oldest literacy councils in Pennsylvania working nearly 40 years to help
thousands reach their goals. Joan Breisch, Executive Director of the Literacy Council,
will be with us in the Gerber Room following the service. She will answer questions and
provide literature about the important work of this volunteer organization.
May 11 Nurturing the Spirit: A Service for All Ages
Rev. Sandra Fees and Joanna Groebel, Dir. of Religious Education
On this Mother’s Day, we reflect on what it means for us to nurture the spirit. How do we each
nurture the spirit in our own lives, in our relationships with each other, in the world, and
with the Holy.
May 18 Youth Service: YRU UU?
Our youth will explore why they identify as UU's, what it is that brings them to church every Sunday morning, and how their faith informs their lives. The service will include deep sharing, music, story, and ritual. Please join us!
May 25 Sacred Space
Rev. Sandra Fees and Carol Orts, Worship Associate
Since ancient times, sacred places have captivated
our hearts, minds, and spirits. Some sacred sites
have become important destinations for religious
pilgrims. This morning we will consider the holy
places of our faith and other world religions, while
also reflecting on the sacredness of our everyday
surroundings.
WE ARE A WELCOMING CONGREGATION!
