Home > Newcomers FAQ Answers to Frequently Asked QuestionsFirst UU of Berks County welcomes all persons to our worship services, religious education and exploration programs, and community activities. United in our caring for each other and respect for social justice for all, we affirm the principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association of congregations. We encourage one another in spiritual growth and affirm a free and responsible search for truth and meaning. You are welcome to join us in this search. |

We affirm also the inherent worth and dignity of all, and worship together regardless of origin, theological interpretation, social status or style of dress. You are welcome wearing satin or sandals, damask or denim. We are in center city Reading and finding us is fairly easy. Free parking is available at the parking garage directly across from the church. See the directions page for more details. Our Sunday worship services are at 10:30. Child care is provided, and families begin the service together. Following an intergenerational moment, children and teenagers move on to religious education and exploration classes in our Sunday school while adults continue in worship. The church has a rich history. It has been in downtown Reading for more than 170 years and was founded as part of the Universalist tradition. Today we celebrate the richness of our diversity while honoring our mission in center city. We welcome you to explore our web site fully so that you may know us better, and we invite you to visit with us so that we also may come to know you. Please linger for coffee and conversation after the service and grab a green cup to let us know you are new. For additional information call or e-mail the church office at 610-372-0928 or office@uuberks.org. The Rev. Sandra Fees may be contacted through the church office or at minister@uuberks.org. |
