Poor People's Campaign kickoff action in Harrisburg

May 14, 2018

Monday, May 14th -  Poor People's Campaign kickoff action in Harrisburg

(and weekly actions until June 18)

Drawing on the history, vision and unfinished work of the 1968 Poor People’s Campaign initiated by Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and others, the Poor People’s Campaign: A National Call for Moral Revival (PPC) is uniting tens of thousands of people across the country to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation and the nation’s distorted morality. There will be weekly actions in Harrisburg every Monday starting May 14 through June 18, with involvement from UUPLAN and the Harrisburg UU church arranging childcare and other support. The May 14 kickoff action at 2pm will focus on women’s and children’s poverty, youth and people with disabilities, and our right to education.
Please contact Tonya Wenger (who will be meeting up with other UUs from across PA at the May 14 event) at tlwenger73@gmail.com or 717-344-9997 if you are interested in participating in the kickoff action event only and want more information about that, or can offer or need rides from Berks County that day.

If you want to individually be involved further in the organizing for May 14 or the other PPC actions in Harrisburg, please check out https://www.facebook.com/PennsylvaniaPPC/
