Inward Springs
This is a bi-monthly periodical created to support UU adults in the spiritual education of the children in their lives.  The adults can be parents, extended family or friends. Some past issues have explored Images of God, Priorities and Spiritual Health, Living with Loss, and Liberal Religious Values.  An individual subscription costs $15. HUUmans at Home
A bi-monthly newsletter created for UU homeschoolers and kindred spirits to share ideas.  It provides a directory of compatible homeschool and alternative learning support groups and contacts, as well as information about regional gatherings, resources, curricula, and projects.  One year subscription is $12.  Send check to Mary Marsh at P.O. uuworld.org
The UUA’s weekly online magazine takes UU voices and values beyond the readership of UU World, the UUA’s quarterly magazine.  Offered are nline only resources, articles, weekly news, and links to resources.  It’s been named the Best Faith-Based Online Campaign in 2006 for its creativity, innovation, memorability, and design.

A UU Kid’s Book
A classic collection of puzzles, stories, games, and songs for children age 8-12.  Available from UniUniques for $15.

Seeds of Simplicity
A project of the Center for Religious, Ethic, and Social Policy at Cornell University, this nonprofit program advocates a simple lifestyle.  It provides parenting resources and learning materials which are free to members: tax deductible membership is $25 a year, with no one turned away for lack of funds.  The goals are to help children learn to find happiness with fewer material goods and reduce disproportionate consumption of earth’s resources.  Contact Carol Benson Holst at P.O. Dovetail:  A Newsletter By and For Jewish/Christian Families
Published bi-monthly by Dovetail Publishing, PA Box 19945, Kalamazoo, MI 49019, 616-342-2900.  A one year subscription is available for $24.

Alternative Family
The premier magazine for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender parents and their children.  Published by AFM Publishing, PA box 5650 River Forest, IL 60305.  800-256-8519.  One year bi-monthly subscription is $24.

New Family Traditions Newsletter
Inspiring, contemporary family rituals from a wonderful UU author, Meg Cox.  Email her at megmaxc@aol.com and request her free monthly email newsletter.

The Virtues Project
This initiative, started in a public school system, provides programs and materials from an interfaith, multi-cultural perspective, with the goals of using “teachable moments” with children to develop character and self-esteem.  Also for a description of their book :The Family Virtues Guide, a book for parents and children to use together with the aim of learning to live by their highest values, which are compatible with Unitarian Universalism.

Parenting For Peace and Justice
This is not a UU organization, but rather an interfaith group with the stated purpose of “creating circles of peace to break the cycles of violence.”  It sponsors the “Family Pledge of Non-Violence” as well as Leadership Training Workshops and publications on  non-violence.  The website is www.ipj-ppj.org.  Individual or family memberships are $25 a year. You will receive the bi-monthly newsletter, Circles of  Peace, Circles of Justice, FAVAN Updates, and discounts on PPJ resources.
