July 11:  JTW members attend Black Lives Matter conference in Bethesda, MD
Sept. 26:  JTW meeting discusses congregation procedures & mission statement
Sept. 27:  JTW meeting on logistics for Black Lives Matter banner dedication
Oct. 4:  Town Hall meeting to discuss the Black Lives Matter banner
Oct. 6:  UU ministers, including Rev. Sandra Fees, deliver petitions asking for closing of the BCRC to ICE in Philadelphia
Oct. 18: FUUBC Black Lives Matter banner dedication and Town Hall meeting
Oct. 23-25: UU JP District Racial Justice Conference in Cherry Hill, NJ, attended by 8 JTW members
Nov. 10: BCTV “Centering on Peace” discusses Black Lives Matter and UU efforts
Nov 29: JTW workgroup met to begin developing draft mission statement
Recently: Visit to Senator David Argall’s office
Dec. 6: Immigration and Race Forum held at FUUBC
Ongoing: First Friday of each month: Social Justice film series
Ongoing: Efforts to address the detention of women and children at the Berks County Residential Center

  • Completed first round of Beloved Conversations program (retreat plus 8 seminars with 21 participants)
  • Hosted Beloved Conversations worship service on Nov. 27, 2016

FEB. 10-11, 2017: Beloved Conversations Kick-Off Retreat
followed by 8 small-group seminars held biweekly through the Spring 2017.
