Meet Our Minister--Rev. Sandra Fees


Rev. Sandra Fees has served as our minister for 14 years. She completed theological studies at Lancaster Theological Seminary where she earned a Master of Divinity degree in 2003. She holds Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in English Literature from Shippensburg and Syracuse Universities, respectively. She is enrolled in the Doctor of Ministry program at Lancaster Theological Seminary and will graduate in May 2018. Prior to being called to Unitarian Universalist ministry, she worked in corporate marketing communications and nonprofit fund-raising.

She currrently serves as a Good Officer for the Unitarian Universalist Minister's Association, Priestley-Kingsbury Chapter, providing support to colleagues in times of tension. She has previously served locally on the Berks Counseling Center's Board of Directors, served as President of the local chapter of the Unitarian Universalist Minister's Association, and co-chaired the board of Pennsylvania's UU statewide legislative advocacy network (UUPLAN). Her social justice passions include ecofeminism, GLBTQ rights, immigration justice, and racial justice. She participates in a local multi-faith coalition that coordinates an annual Service of Gratitude on Thanksgiving Eve and on an Interfaith Pride team that coordinates an annual service.

Rev. Sandra is a native Pennsylvanian, a pesce-vegetarian, cat-whisperer, and poet. She was named Berks County Poet Laureate for 2016-2018. Rev. Sandra considers herself a contemplative, and her spiritual practices include bhakti yoga and meditation. She resides in the Berkshire Greens neighborhood of the City of Reading.

Newcomers and members alike are encouraged to meet with Rev. Sandra to reflect on their spiritual lives, learn about our religious community, and find ways to deepen their engagement with the congregation.
