In the spirit of hope and peace we will have a table in the gerber room after worship Sunday afternoon to assist the Unitarian Universalist Service Committeee's initiative to offer welcome messages with migrant children and families who have recently arrived to remind them that they have a home and are welcome here.
The table will be staffed by Pat Uribe-Lichty, Ebee Bromley and learners from our 4th-6th grade Saplings class. We will assist you in counteracting the hateful rhetoric and violence the Trump administration has shown to asylum-seekers who desire to become part of our communities.
Come visit our table loaded with blank cards, decorations and sample phrases to send to these families:
You are not alone – ¡No estan solos!
You are welcome here – ¡Estan bienvenidos aqui!
Be strong – ¡Fuerza!
With affection – Con cariño
Feliz Navidad – Merry Christmas
Won't you visit our table and practice welcome?
If you have extra craft supplies to donate please contact Ebee Bromley.
The cards will be sent off on Monday Dec 10th to arrive at the UUSC office in time for their project deadline. For full information please visit: https://www.uusc.org/initiatives/share-a-message-of-welcome-and-joy/
