Letters to Today's Social Justice Partners

February 5, 2019
Letters are a way to build relationships. Building trust and supporting each other's work to bend the moral arc towards justice is imperative as we work towards an anti-racist anti-oppressive beloved community. Here's what some worshipers shared with community social justice organizations Make the Road and Indivisible Berks when we embarked on the spiritual act of writing postcards at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend service.

Raise in Parking Voucher Cost

January 25, 2019

We are sad to report that the Reading Parking Authority has raised the cost of our parking vouchers for the 4th and Cherry street garage from $1 to $2.50. Because we do not generally keep coin change on hand, we will now be selling the vouchers 2 for $5. This is still a 30% discount on the cost of the garage parking. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Social Justice Survey Summary, Explanation and Commentary

December 5, 2018

Data from the completed Social Justice Surveys were compiled by Carol Orts, who organized the project over the Summer of 2018, and frequently encouraged all congregants to participate.

The Survey Summary takes the response counts, as submitted by Carol, and arranges them in order, for easy comprehension.

All data regarding the age of respondents, and their areas of concern were gathered by Carol. Every suggestion for increased congregational involvement was noted. Those suggestions mentioned with significant frequency are listed in the survey.
