March 6th - First Friday Film and Ban the Box Update

First Unitarian Universalist Church of Berks County is co-hosting a public update on the fair chance hiring initiative in the city of Reading, also known as the "Ban the Box" movement. Come out on Friday, March 6 at 6pm for the meeting and then stay for our First Friday Film from Decarcerate PA at 7pm.

Church Seeks Part Time Office Administrator

The First Unitarian Universalist Church is looking for a Part time Office Administrator. Duties include the administrative, bookkeeping, scheduling, and communications functions.

Responsibilities for this diverse and fast-paced position include: Managing the membership database, payroll liaison, bookkeeping, coordinating grocery scrip, mailings, preparing weekly order of service, office equipment maintenance, generating the weekly electronic newsletter, web calendaring updates, and general office duties.

This is an all ages event.  The young ones can enjoy Adventures with Clifford the Big Red Dog.  The older children, teens and adults can view the Spirits of the Passage: The Story of the Transatlantic Slave Trade.  Here's the museums link:

Special Plate Collection Update

The January Special Plate Collection for the Minister's Discretion Fund brought in $1,146. The next Special Plate Collection is for CampPeaceworks on this coming Sunday, February 15th

The Special Plate Collection for City Light Ministries originally scheduled for March 15th has been rescheduled and will be taken on March 29th.
