December 3, 2014

A small committee (Stephanie Elliott, Shelley Kauffman, Carol Orts, Bonnie Sirott and Stacey Campbell) met and discussed our Coffee Service.  Here is a list of guidelines we came up with that we think will promote a warm atmosphere where people can enjoy each other’s company and the Coffee Crew will not be overburdened in the process:

A Special Message from Our Minister on the Verdict in Ferguson

November 26, 2014

Monday was “a sad night in America,” as Sojourner Magazine called it. The Grand Jury’s decision not to indict Darren Wilson has left many of us angry, dismayed and disappointed. While violence immediately erupted in Ferguson, peaceful protests soon emerged in over 170 cities nationwide. The common refrain among protesters has been: “black lives matter,” an indication of the nation’s deep-seated pain around long-standing racial inequality and the fervent cry for justice.

Sanctuary Art and the Finishing Touches

November 11, 2014

While renovations to our worship space are complete, there are a number of exciting finishing touches still in the works. The most significant of these is the creation of a permanent piece of artwork to be installed in the front archway. A subgroup of the Sanctuary Improvement Team (Suzy Crump, Dave Wentzel, Shelley Kauffman and Rev. Sandra Fees) is coordinating this effort. Preliminary ideas and sketches will be presented to the congregation in December or January for input with an expected installation date sometime in Spring 2015. The projected cost is $5,000-10,000.
