Cradles to Crayons Collection Drive for Children’s Clothing

October 6, 2018

We will be collecting clothing, pajamas, shoes, boots, outerwear, books, and school supplies for children ages infant to 12 years old here at FUUCBC. Please ask your neighbors and friends to also donate.

Ruth Epler in Need of Our Help

October 5, 2018

Long time member Ruth Epler was recently moved to Elmcroft after a back injury. She is unable to take two of her cats and is desperate to find them loving homes so that they will not need to be taken to a shelter. Patches is a female about 8 years old and is very friendly and laid back and gets along best with male cats. She has never been around children or dogs.Patches is a polydactyl which means she has extra toes! She is a tri- color, orange, gray and white.

Memorial Service for Sam Tyson

September 22, 2018

Long time member Sam Tyson passed away on July 18th. A Celebration of Life Service  will be held on September 22 at The Highlands at Wyomissing, 2000 Cambridge Ave., Wyomissing, PA 19610. Reverend Sandra Fees will officiate.There will be a lunchoen following the service.Those attending the service are also invited to the luncheon.

Debeneville Grant Accepting Applications

Dear Fellow FUUBC members,

 

Next year's DeBenneville Fund grant request (s) will be evaluated this fall and voted upon at our December congregational meeting. 

This letter is being sent to initiate the requests for grant proposals, to clarify the grant process and to present three proposed amendments to the plan of operation.

 

Please be advised that the DeBenneville Fund Committee, our Minister, the Reverend Sandra Fees and our Board of Directors hereby request grant proposals for the calendar year 2019.

Adults in our Faith Community - you have the power to learn alongside our children and youth!  There are so many wonders you will encounter as you guide the lesson in partnership with the participants.  Witnessing the “beginner’s mind” can spark that state for your own learning. It is a true gift.

Seeking Song/Hymn Leaders

Looking for a way to connect more deeply with worship and your faith?  The music program is seeking 2-3 members to join our burgeoning 4 person Song/Hymn leader team.  Commitment to include:

- leading congregational songs (hymns) 1 to 2 services ever other month under the coaching of music director, Ebee Bromley.  

- meeting twice in the Fall and Spring as a group to explore worship and song leading techniques.  First gathering to meet this October

The Tri- Wizard Tournament

The UU Church of Cherry Hill presents the Tri- Wizard Tournament Wedsnesday August 22.  The UU Berks line of the Hogwarts Express departs from 416 3/4 Franklin Street platform at 8 am.

Over six days, Grannies Respond will be journeying from Manhattan, NY to McAllen, Texas in response to the humanitarian crisis at the Mexican border. What started as an idea between a group of grandmothers distressed about immigrant children being torn from their families has grown into a movement garnering national attention.
