Vigil at the Berks Family Detention Center

Shut Down Berks Interfaith Witness, Shut Down Berks Coalition & Make the Road will be holding a vigil at the Berks Family Detention Center will be held Sunday August 12th at 3:30pm. The vigil will be led by Family Doctors against Family Detention. The detention center is located at 1040 Berks road in Leesport.

The board receive a report on General Assembly from two of our congregational delegates - Pat Uribe-Lichty and Kristi Lado - and thanks all those who participated in GA.
The board approved an evote to allow the Social Justice Committee to use the congregational banne

Beloved Reunion

August 25th- 9am
Participants in a Jubilee and/or Beloved Conversations at First UU, will participate in a Racial Justice Beloved Reunion. 

The Passing of Sam Tyson

Long time member Sam Tyson passed away on July 18th. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on September 22 at 11am at The Highlands at Wyomissing, 2000 Cambridge Ave., Wyomissing, PA 19610. Reverend Sandra Fees will officiate.11 Further details will be provided closer to the date.

Those interested in playing strummed stringed instruments (guitars, bass, uke, etc) for the fourth Sunday of each month are welcomed to play through hymns and special music for an hour each Monday night.  This is a collaborative learning environment.  Some of the music is learned by ear, some by chords/tabs, we are happy to teach eachother and grow from one another - don't count yourself out!
